SOS has provided a doorway of opportunity to many non-seminarians and to us for evangelism in foreign lands. After retirement as a professional engineer, we have made four short term mission project trips to Poland to teach, preach, and evangelize for weeks at a time under the auspices of SOS. These experiences are not just enlightening, but also energizing and gave us the outlook of on-the-job-practical evangelism.
One thing about SOS: to help nationals in the gospel ministry, rather than being “in charge” was received by the local churches in Polish Silesia as the greatest thing since release from communist rule. We were requested and urged to return every year since then. This method gets around. It is one reason why SOS is invited to so many places around the world to “help.” And it is a reason why we are biblically encouraged, because that’s what Paul did.
SOS, in ministry, in fellowship, in obedience to our Lord, in good works, and in its ministry approach is a part of our life, not just our support. |
