What is SOS International?
Our Strategy
Our strategy is to equip, resource and encourage indigenous leaders to fulfill their ministries of evangelizing and discipling their communities and nations. We send seasoned, experienced teachers, pastors, professors – experts in their fields – to these leaders to prepare them in areas they request. These leaders, in turn, train other leaders in their spheres of influence.
This distinctive approach to missions and ministry results in multiplying the impact of the training these leaders receive in an efficient and effective way that maximizes the investment of resources and utilizes the training and experience of seasoned ministry professionals.
Our History
SOS International has equipped tens of thousands of indigenous ministry leaders during more than 1000 training conferences in 90 countries since 1979. We have a proven track record of delivering strategic training opportunities for those committed to equipping the leader-saints for the work of ministry for the building up of the Body of Christ.
SOS International has expanded the ministry of hundreds of equippers (pastors and professors) to international proportions as they have passed on their training and experience to indigenous leaders around the world.
What Drives SOS International?
SOS International is driven by two vital objectives: the Lord’s passionate desire that “all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth,” (1 Timothy 2:4); and for disciples of Jesus be developed in every nation (Matthew 28:19-20).
SOS International is directed by the scriptural responsibility of the leadership corps of the Church to equip the saints for the work of ministry for the building up of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16). When leaders are equipped with biblically rooted training, the Body of Christ is strengthened and effective.
Presently, 90% of ministry leaders worldwide have little or no training to fulfill their ministries (TOPIC).
What is SOS International?
SOS International is a leadership-equipping mission agency that focuses on equipping national indigenous leaders to fulfill the ministries our Lord has entrusted to them. We respond to their training requests by inviting and sending prepared and experienced leaders to train in the areas where these indigenous leaders lack a skill-set, mind-set and/or knowledge-set.

Dr. Richard Frazer
Dr. Richard Frazer served in church-based ministry for 30 years, primarily as Lead Pastor. He has equipped ministry leaders through SOS International since 1992 and has served on SOS International’s Board of Directors since 1994. He was prayed into the leadership of SOS International in March of 2006 by Rev. Henry (Hank) Jones, SOS International’s Founder.
Rich works with the indigenous ministry leaders of 30 indigenous organizations in 16 countries (2016). He also recruits and networks with a strong team of pastors, trainers and professors who equip these leaders to strengthen and fulfill their ministries. As a result, SOS International is trusted both for providing high quality training for indigenous leaders and for arranging fruitful training opportunities for equippers.
Dr. Frazer holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simpson University (Bible/Music), a Master of Divinity Degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Phoenix Seminary.
Rich lives in La Quinta, California with his wife, Debbie. They have four sons and three grandchildren. They enjoy swimming, exercising, traveling, and family times.
Staff
We are often asked who we have on the teaching staff of SOS International. Our response typically is: “Nobody. And Everybody.” Let us explain:
Nobody who trains leaders through SOS International is officially on our full-time faculty. However, we have prescreened a team of capable and experienced trainers, in the US and abroad, who are ready to expand their ministries to international proportions through the invitation of SOS International. These equippers trust us to screen training opportunities yet are not officially “Staff.”
On the other hand, everyone in the leadership corps of The Church is on SOS International Staff! Ephesians 4 identifies those with leadership gifts as those who have responsibility to equip the saints for the work of ministry for the building up of the Body of Christ (4:11-12).
Since we’d all agree the Body of Christ exists on a global platform, the equipping of the saints (in our scenario, indigenous-leadership saints) takes place on the same level – on a global platform. Ergo, every ministry leader capable, experienced and prepared to equip leaders for ministry is on Kingdom Faculty and, therefore, an SOS International Staff Member!
